initial velocity of the body will be equal to the velocity of balloon i.e. 1m/s in upward direction....and thus calculate...the answer will be 1 sec....0.1s in going up and 0.9s in coming down....

the velocity of the released body is 1m/s upwards.
and its acceleration will be 10m/s2 downwards.
when released it was at a height of 4m from the ground.
so the equation is 5t2 - t - 4 = 0.
this gives t = 1s.
the body will take 1s to reach the ground.
