What happens to the length of day when the polar ice caps of earth melt?the ans. is that it increases as Radius Of Gyration Increases so I increases so w(omega) decreases to make the Ang. MOmentum constant.BUT HOW DOES THE RADIUS OF GYRATION INCREASES???

the time period incresaes as volume nad mass per unit area increases
I think Radius of Gyration should decrease as it is inversely proportional to mass as folrmula is I=MK2 . . . so ice is lighter than water then M should increase therefore K should decrease . . .
