Dear Pallavi

Spring constant of spring depends upon number of coil in spring

whent you cut the spring then number of coil remain half of the original

so ner k'=k/(1/2)

             =2k

Given   T=2∏ √(m/k) 


 now  for half spring   T'=2∏ √(m/2k)

                                  =T/√2
