What is line of flow?

Line of Flow is the line/path that is taken by a particle/matter in a liquid which is flowing. The tangent at any point gives the direction of motion of that particle at that point.
In steady flow,all the particles passing through a given point follow the same path and hence a unique line of flow. This line or path is called streamlined.
