Why is critical velocity (for motion in a complete vertical circle) (4gl)^(1/2) for a LIGHT ROD whereas for a STRING, it is (5gl)^(1/2)??

its bcoz of the fact that....for completion of vertical circle of rod,we make the VELOCITY ZERO at the top most point,so we take the final kinetic energy zero in the energy eqn.....whereas in the case of string we take TENSION ZERO at the topmost point, that is suitable condition for that...
