is the work done by friction in pure rolling is always zero

Hi Raghava Rajeev,

 

No. It is not always zero.

Consider a body (say a plank) on which a sphere is purely rolling. If the plank is moving on the ground, then the point of contact of the sphee and the plank also moves with the same velocity as that of the plank (condition of pure rolling).

In this case the work done by friction is non-zero.
