by use constraints we can solve the sum,

as vb=va+(velocity of winding)

but given that the whole system is moving upward at 2m/s.

there for vb=4+1

                =5m/s.

(V-4)/2= 2 Velocity =8m/s upward by the use of pully Travels average of the two points constrained motion equation

V= Val + Vl = 2-2 = 0
Use point method
-V+2+2+0 =-2 (as length of string decreasing by 2m/s rate)
V= 6m/s
