Two boys of masses 10 kg and 8 kg are moving along a vertical rope, the former climbing up with acc. 2 m/s2 while later coming down with the uniform velocity of 2 m/s. The tension in rope at fixed support will be (g=10 m/s2)???
Explain pls.
The answer 200N.
The boy moving up has to apply a force of 120N (to counter gravity and accelerate up with acceleration of 2m/s) on the rope in the dowward direction and the boy moving up with the velocity of 2m/s has to apply a force of 80N to have a constant velocity or conter the gravity. thus the total force that the rope has to apply is 200N.
