This may be possible under the following condition:

Lets suppose that the bullet ,soon after being fired by the gun , broke up into two pieces of equal masses. In such a case the center of mass of the two pieces of the bullet will continue to follow a parabolic path, however one of the two pieces can have an angle > 45 .
