the impulsive collision force of the plane is normal to the surface of the plane. This force is obviously not vertical.

NET FORCE IS NOT CONSERVED ALONG VERTICAL DIRN....BUT ITS CONSERVED ALONG THE AXIS WE HAD TAKEN(TILTED)

to conserve momomtum there must be no external force on system and in vertical direction there is gravity
