Pure rolling is the scenario where there is no relative motion between between the point of contact of the body moving on a surface and the surface itself.

Hi Ashwin,
But there is some static friction involved in the pure rolling which provides the required torque thus equalling the actual velocity or linear velocity with the angular velocity.
