let 't' be time. velocity vectors are v1(t) =V1ti+gtj,and v2(t)= -V2ti+gtj

when velocity vector is mutually perpendicular at t=tp, v1(tp)·v2(tp)=0

let h be initial horizontal distance

at tp distance=ltp(V1+V2)-hl
