Normal force by definition itself is a contact force. So any displacement in the direction of normal force applied will mean that contact is lost.So there won't be any work done.

hi,

Normal force can do non zero work. consider a man in  a lift & lift  is going upward .

then it is clear that the potential energy of man will be  increased , from where this energy comes ?  this energy comes from the work done by the normal force , which is acting in the direction of displacement.
