hi, In every qn related to constrained relation u can look for the thing which remain constant. like in this situation La = length of the string from block A to pulley Lb = length of the string from pulley to block B now u can look that, La+Lb=L {total lengh of the string whicn is costant } now differentiating the relatn, we get : Va+Vb=0 {vel. of the bloks} & Aa+Ab=0 {accelrn of the bolcks}, now u can further proceed for solving the problem. all 3 eqn above r known as constrained relations.
