sir,in case of a pulley mass system,two blocks are hanging from two ends.can we apply conservation of momentum for holl system at a time?

No,conservation of momentum for the system here can't be applied.

Here gravity as a external force still acting on the system.

Conservation of momentum as a tool could be applied to solve those cases only when there is no external force acting on the

system concerned in the direction of interest.Here in the above case direction of motion is vertical and actually caused by pull of

gravity itself.
