in order to examine rotational equilibrium of an object can we take torque about any point.for example:1.while examing rotational equilibrium of a sea-saw we take torque about fulcrum,if we take torque about ends then we will get a net torque even if loads on both the sides are equal in magnitude.2.to examine toppling of a rectangular block about a point what are the points about which we can calculate torque.Also reply if there do exists such special points why is it so.

u r in misconception u wont get net torque abt end .u r not considering the torque of normal at the hinge point..
