A target is fixed on the top of a pole 13m high. A person standing at a distance 50m from the pole is capable of projecting a stone with a speed of 31.62m/s. If he wants to strike the target in shortest possible time, at what angle should be project the stone.

hey venkata

this is the simplest of projectile question...

u(x)=31.62cosA
u(y)=31.62sinA
a(x)=0
a(y)=-g
range/2=50m (for shortest distance)
so, 2*50=u(x)t
t=100/31.62cosA----------1.

height =u(y)t+1/2 a(y) t(sq)
substitute values of u(y),a(y),height=13 and t from eq 1,solve 4 angle A

sry the values r not so gud tats y i havent calculated it........
