Suppose, we are given velocity in terms of time, say

v=bt

Now for acceleration, we need to differentiate velocity, i.e.,

a=d(v)/dt

a=d(bt)/dt

a=b

which means a is not dependent on time and is constant i.e., b.

So, we conclude that after differentiating the velocity to get the acceleration, If we get a constant term which is independent of any kind of variable, then the acceleration is constant.
