Can you pls explain the cases in which friction supports the motion?
when a body(sphere , disk) is rolled with some angular velocity & no linear velocity in a horizontal ground then friction acts in foreward direction & hence it acts as driving force ... it this case it supports the motion
Walking is a good example...
Another example in which friction supports as well as opposes motion is a car...
while the friction due to front wheel supports the motion at the same time friction due to rear wheels opposes the motion...
