this is a contradiction to classical physics.Mass can change to energy and vice versa.According to modern physics,mass and energy are one and the same.This can be observed inside the nucleus.We study that neutron is a combination of a proton and electron.But there is a slight variation in mass known as mass defect.So,law of conservation of mass is valid only under ordinary conditions.
