a monkey is at rest on a weightless rope which gpes over a pulley and is tied to a bunch of bananas at the other end. the weight of monkey and bananas is exactly equal. the pylley is frictionless. the monkey starts to climb up to reach the bananas. As he climbs, the distance between him and bananas wil a) increase b) decrease c) remain same PLS ELABORATE AND EXPLAIN!!!!!!!

since the weight of the monkey and the banana is same and the systen of the pulley is smooth ..........the net acceleration of the system is zero HOW???

well , here we should consider the acceleration of the rope along the two sides of the pulley and not the accelerartion of the monkey as it may get confusing (as i get confused !! 8-0) ....

if we take the acceleration of the rope on both the sides then we wil notice that the acceleration of bothe masses is same . When the monkey pulls the rope in order to get higher simultaneously it also shortens the lenthg of the rope at the other side and thus the acceleration of the banana is same as that of the monkey and is in same direction!!! thats why the distance of these two doesn't change ....

therefore the answer should be c) it will remain same...
