axis of rotation is the axis( line ) which is perpendicular to the plane of disk , perpendicular to motion of center of mass &
passing through the center of disk....

In such cases, axis is taken as perpendicular to the plane of the object, and also perpendicular to the motion of the object. In most cases, it is through the center of mass.
