when a horse pulls a cart it applies force in forward direction. The direction of the displacement is also the same so the angle between force and displacement is zero

during the free fall of a body of mass m the force on the body is mg in downward direction and the diplacement is also in the downward direction

Dear Debadrita,

The angle between force and displacement is zero when displacement takes place in the direction of the force applied. For example, when a body falls freely under gravity the angle between force and displacement is zero.
