A cubical room is formed with six plane mirrors. An insect moves along the diagonal of the floor with uniform speed. the velocities of its images in two adjacent walls are 20x21/2 cm/s. then the velocity of the image formed by the roofs.

please solve with explaination

dear chaitanya,

it is given that the velocity of image is 20x2^1/2

thus the velocity of object will be,

v/sin45

=> velocity of object = 40 cm/s

and the velocity of the image formed by the roof will be same as that of object,

hence answer = 40 cm/s
