Dear Nikhil
For sign of u see the slope (dx/dt) is positive or negative
at t1 slope is +ve u will be +ve
at t2 slope is zero , u will be zero
at t3 slope is -ve, u will be negative
For sign of ax (d2x/dt2) see whether curve is concave upwards or downwards
at t1 and t3 it is concave upwards hence ax is +ve
at t2 it is concave downwards hence ax is -ve
