what will be the constrained equation for a sinple pulley whos one side is connected with another pulley and is heavier frm the other??
pls explain im finding it very difficult to understand the concept of constrained equation
Dear Amod ,
replace the body by a mass M . then if the mass M goes down by a distance x , then assume the distance goes by the other mass(blue coloured) goes by y . if the pulley(or blue mass) goes up by y then the string which gets free is 2y. this is the main point. so this 2y is actually what the string must have gone down by at the man'a hand.
so x =2y and so is the relation between the acceleration .
