SIR,

WHAT IS THE BASIC APPROACH TO DERIVE EQUATION OF TRAJECTORY IN a)projectile motion b)river swimmer cases.

what is the use of above eqn. ?

WHAT IS EQN. OF PARABOLA?

WHEN DO WE PERFORM DIFFERENTIATION & WHEN INTEGRATION IN PROBLEMS OF WPE, LAWS OF MOTION & KINEMATICS ?

Dear saumya

basic approach is

let angle be b

then vertical velocity = usinp

horizontal = ucosp

y= (usinp)t-1/2 gt^2

x= ucospt

now use t from second equation in first

you cna get equation

any equation in form of y= ax2+bx+c is form of parabola

differentioan is when you wnat to find out velocity from displacement or accelerationfrom velocity

integration is just opposite to differentiation

Please feel free to post as many doubts on our discussion forum as you can.we will get you the answer and detailed  solution very  quickly.

All the best.

Hi ,

Steps to solve problems involving trajectory :

Resolve components of velocity and acceleration along X and Y direction taking care of sign.

Then use the three laws of motion.

If the acceleration varies use differential forms and then integrate the expression suitably.

You can directly get relation between x and y or will get in terms of t.

Eliminate t to get expression for trajectory.

These steps are applicable in all kinds of motion involving trajectory.
