Hi Hridam

The moment of inertia of the rod about its end is equal to the moment of inertia of the rod about an axis passing through that end and perpendicular to the rod.

Hence, the moment of inertia of the rod about its end is ml2/3 .

The moment of inertia is ml^2/3 sin^2 (90-theta) = ml^2/3 cos^2 theta
