Hi..
Ya as per the rank you have mentioned, it is difficult to get into a very good IIT. You may get into the new IITs but the chances are less again.
Regarding the streams, you can try for the second and third counselling if the seats will be available at that time.
But you should also try for IISERs and IIST for the branches you are actually interested in.
