dear brock 
for admission into iit , your main mark will not matter , only u have to qualify mains , thats it .. 
and in advanced , u need to qualify with top 2000 u will get mechanical in top 4 iit , 
and if u can get rank within 6500 then u will get in moderate iit .

For mechanical branch you should just qualify jee mains and get 40% + MARKS to get into IIT.Please approve answer
