how much rank should i aim for if i want admission in my preffered iit

Dear Chirag,

If you are able to get a rank around 2,500 you will be able to choose any IIT you want but, there will be less departments to choose,

that is you will not be able to put your preference like if you need computer science, or ece or mechanical.. etc

but for 2500 you can get departments like civil engineering, metallurgy, naval architechture etc..
