Thanks fr telling me that i should be in the top 150 of the test takers in the country to pursue software engineering.. can u help me buil a time table as to balance my studies of school and my IIT preparation? and how can i assure myself of getting a rank in top 150 in the country?

It depends in which phase of your preparation you are in this time.

If you are in 11th class then please try ton finish all your course before Dec 2012. and after that practice more and more

And if you are in 12th class then your basics must be clear till now and you just need to wotk on your doubts and speed of solving questions
