Charge q has been placed in a sphere . Why the potential is constant on the surface of sphere as well as inside the sphere though the distance from charge q to the surface of sphere is not equal to the distance from charge q inside the sphere

Please do not consider it with ideal situation ,

That distance is assumed to be zero , as compared to outside distance.
