When and why in some cases we are using thumb to represent CURRENT such as Magnetic field due to straight long current carrying conductor and in amperes circuital law whereas in current carrying circular coil and solenoid we use thumb to represent MAGNETIC FIELD? What is the deciding factor of what thumb represents in these cases?

I got the answer. We use thumb as current when current travels in a straight line and thumb as magnetic field when current travels in a loop.
