The wavelength of spectral line in the Lymann series of H-atom is 1028 A 0 . if instead of hydrogen, we consider deuterium then the shift in the wavelengthof this line will be ( m p = 1860 m e )- 1. 1027.7 A 0 2. 1036 A 0 3. 1028 A 0 4. 1021 A 0

there will be no change in he wavelength as all the forces and enegy equations in nuclear physics strictly depend only on the interaction between a proton and an electron and depends only on the no of protons and electrons hence dueterium which has only one extra nuetron when compared to hydrogen dosent change the wavelength of the spectral lines

therefore answer is 1028 A0

hope this helps XD
