The magnet can have a spherical shape but the repartition of the magnetic pole is not spherical.A good example is Earth which has magnetic poles.
The north and south pole of a spherical magnet can be determined when it is bring near a bar magnet with clear marking of north and south pole.It is conventional that one may named one pole of a bar magnet as north, just be cause it point towards geographical north, then we fund that unlike poles attract.so by that logic the magnetic pole near the geographical north is actually Geomagnetic south pole and north of the bar magnet will dip down towards Geomagnetic south pole .
HOPE IT WILL HELP YOU!All The Best.
