Grade 12Magnetism

A long straight wire, carrying current I, is bent at its midpoint to form an angle of 450. Induction of magnetic field at point P, distance R from point of bending (as shown in figure), is equal to: align=absmiddle
a) align=absmiddle
(b) align=absmiddle
(c) align=absmiddle
(d) align=absmiddle

Use Biot-Savart law to find the resultant magnetic induction due to two current carrying wire segment in the same direction.
You must assure about the angle between them, that will help you to find the net magnetic field.
Use that concept and find the answer........

B = u°I / [4π× R/√2] × (sin90°-sin135°).. First use the formula related with motion in a straight current carrying wire the find the respective angel and distance from the point P.
