yes ofcourse its magnetic lines of force can exist in vaccum.
eg.magnetic field surrounding jupiter is more stronger than earth and they exist in vaccum more rarified than any laboratory.
you know something????? there is still no known ability to create a vaccum that doesnot hav virtual particles which are responsible for the extension of magnetism and so many other phenomena...
for further explanations...you must study about quantum electro dynamics theory......all these phenomena is based on QED theory
