B.V. = B* sin? [B.V. = vertical component of earth 's magnetic field;
B = earth's magnetic field at a place;
? = angle of dip]
So, vertical component of earth magnetic field becomes zero when angle of dip becomes zero, i.e. at the magnetic equator
