The magnetic field lines have a tendency to contract lengthwise and expand sidewise. Due to this, the at the sides, i.e. at the ends of the magnet, near the poles, The magnetic field lines do not exist. because they enter inside the magnet in a very contracted form. So, along the length, you will never find magnetic field due to the same magnet. Thanks and Regards, Apoorva Arora, IIT Roorkee, askIITians Faculty
