we can write it as 
98 + sqrt (x^3 – x^2 – 12 x + 36) = 10^2
sqrt (x^3 – x^2 – 12 x + 36) = 100 – 98 = 2
squaring both the sides
(x^3 – x^2 – 12 x + 36) = 4
(x^3 – x^2 – 12 x + 32) = 0
Now use have to use hit and trial or put the options to check the answer as we have no method to solve cubic polynomial
however it is correct for x = – 4
