Pls explain ,the negation of conditional statements( if p then q) The negation of biconditional statement(p if and only if q).

Recall that p → q is equivalent to ¬ p ∨ q . Therefore the negation of the implication is the same as negating the disjunction. Using DeMorgan laws we have: ¬ ( ¬ p ∨ q ) ≡ ¬ ¬ p ∧ ¬ q ≡ p ∧ ¬ q
