13+rt(48) = 12 + 1 + 2*1*rt(12) = (rt(12) + 1)^2, when you put this in the eq. you will get 2*rt(3+rt(5-rt(12)-1))
=2*rt(3+rt(4-rt(12)). Similarly, you can write 4-rt(12)=3+1-2*rt(3) = (rt(3)-1)^2. When you put this you will get
=2*rt(3+rt(3)-1)=2*rt(2+rt(3)), Now 2+rt(3) = ½ + 3/2 +2*rt(1/2 * 3/2) = (rt(3/2) + rt(1/2))^2. So, your eq. will be reduced to, =2*rt(3/2) + 2*rt(1/2) = rt(6) + rt(2). Hence a+b=8
