Find the number of solutions of the equation : 2 x + 3 x + 4 x - 5 x = 0 Find the number of solutions of the equation : 2x + 3x + 4x - 5x = 0
Find the number of solutions of the equation :
2x + 3x + 4x - 5x = 0
One solution of this equation is x=0for x=1, 2+3+4>5for x=2, 4+9+15>25for x=3,8+27+64<625imply there is one more solution between 2 and 3, hence total solution of this equation is 2.sher mohammadb.tech, iit delhifaculty askiitians
sorry, x=0 is not a answer
» Answer is given as one root. » My doubt : Yes , there should be atleast a root between 2 and 3. I got that. But how do we confirm there is just one root and not any odd number of roots between 2 and 3?In simple words , functional values at x=2 and x=3 are opposite , ie, any odd number of roots can be there right? Why only one root and not 3 or 5 roots???
