Q:what is the number of arrangements of the word banana such that both the n's doesn't come in an adjacent manner

total perms = 6!/(3!)(2!)
perms where 2 N's are together (take them as one unit) = 5!/(3!)
perms where two N's are not together = 6!/(3!)(2!) - 5!/(3!) = 40.
