let y=f-1(x) so that x=f(y) or dx=f’(y)dy. so when x=a, y=b and x=0, y=0
so, we have to find  P= ∫0toa f(x)dx+∫0toa yf’(y)dy
apply integration by parts on the second integral,
so that P=  ∫0toa f(x)dx+ yf(y)|0toa –  ∫0toa f(y)dy
=af(a) – 0
=ab
