Kindly explain this question to me, a horizontal force of 10N is necessary to just hold a block stationary against a wall . The coefficient of friction between the block and the wall is 0.2. The weight of the block is? my doubt is why cant i equate 10N =umg?

A simple way to understand is that formula is uN=frictional force.. Here friction force is acting vertically between wall and block.... Here N [normal reaction] is 10N....... So u(10)=mg.....ie the friction force is balancing the weight of the block
