There are two kind of terms continuous terms and discrete terms.Continuous terms are terms in which value increases with very small difference and integration is used to find the sum.On representing on the graph it represents the area for a any quantity say f(x) which is function of x. F(x) ×d(x) will give the area under the one such small strip and integrating it will give us the total area.So, integration is used where a quantity changes say f(x) for very small change in x I.e dx and on integrating it we will get the total amount
