Write a short note on partial ionic character in covalent bond

When two atoms of different elements are linked by a covalent bond, the shared electrons are not equally attracted by the two nuclei of bonding atoms. Due to unequal distribution of electron cloud, one atom acquire partial positive charge & other acquire partial negative charge.
