Why Vanadium in +2 oxidation state undergo oxidation though it has stable half filled t2g configuration?

As Vanadium has 5 valence electrons it can have oxidation states upto +5.

In +2 state the vanadium has d3 configuration which tries to loose more electron to gain stable E C of argon.
